Mississippi State sets plans for Super Bulldog Weekend, Maroon-White Spring Football Game

Super Bulldog Weekend is set for Mississippi State as Starkville’s biggest weekend of the spring will be May 2-4.
Among the big events of the weekend will be the baseball team’s showdown with former assistant coach Nick Mingione and Kentucky as well as the Starkville Derby in the Cotton District on Saturday, May 3. The Derby, an event benefiting the Oktibbeha County Humane Society, is just in its third year but has become a popular event within the community.
MSU’s nationally ranked men’s tennis team could also be playing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament that weekend with the nationally ranked softball program taking on rival Ole Miss in a series. The Track and Field program will also be hosting the Maroon and White Invite beginning on Thursday, May 1 and running through Sunday.

The Athletics Department recently sent out a survey to State fans asking for thoughts on when fans preferred the big weekend to take place with additional questions regarding the events planned. One of the hangups for many fans and the University was the Easter Weekend of April 15-19.
That weekend is still slated to be the end of spring football for Jeff Lebby and his football team, and a spring game is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 19. The Cotton District Arts Festival will also be happening that day marking another big weekend for the spring.
