Following last Saturday’s 79-66 whipping of Memphis on the road, Mississippi State vaulted back in the Associated Press Top 25 rankings. The Bulldogs (11-1) moved back into the national rankings and sit at No. 19 going into the Christmas week.

Mississippi State has now entered the Associated Press Top 25 a total of three times this season. In the previous two times, the Bulldogs were ranked No. 25. In their dominant win over Memphis, the Bulldogs used a balanced offensive attack and stingy defense to ease to victory in the FedEx Forum. Riley Kugel led the offense with 19 points.

Once again the SEC dominated the Associated Press Top 25 rankings with 10 SEC teams ranked this week, including five of the Top 10. Tennessee remained No. 1 followed by Auburn at No. 2 and Alabama at No. 5. Florida and Kentucky are also in the Top 10 at No. 6 and No. 10, respectively.
