Mississippi State’s women’s basketball schedule is now complete.

Last month, the Bulldogs announced an exciting and challenging SEC slate on the way. Thursday brought the finality of the scheduling process as the non-conference schedule was released by the University.

Headlining the schedule is the Cayman Islands Classic on November 28-30 as the Bulldogs will take on two teams on a neutral court. The other participants in that event include top 10 team Notre Dame, NCAA Tournament participant Utah, an intriguing TCU team and the USF Bulls. That schedule has not yet been finalized, but the Bulldogs will play on the 28th and the 29th against two of the four other teams billed.

Two other games were already announced prior to Thursday’s release as the Bulldogs will play against Jacksonville in the WBCA Showcase in Orlando, Fla on November 24. State will also travel to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech in the SEC/ACC Challenge on December 4 in a rematch against the Yellow Jackets from last season’s Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament. State won that first round matchup 84-47 at Humphrey Coliseum.

State plays six home games, four neutral site games and four away games during the non-con portion of the schedule. It begins on November 7 with a home matchup against the Memphis Tigers. That game begins a five-game homestand to start the year with Alcorn State (Nov. 10), Alabama State (Nov. 13), UT Chattanooga (Nov. 17) and Mercer (Nov. 20) to follow.

After taking the road to Orlando, the Cayman Islands and Atlanta, coach Sam Purcell will meet up with former assistant Corry Irvin as the Bulldogs travel to take on Irvin’s Chicago State team on December 8. State will play Belmont on December 14 at Cadence Bank Arena in Tupelo in what is expected to be a double-header with the men’s basketball team in their game against McNeese.

The road trip continues at Louisiana-Monroe (Dec. 17) and Maryland Eastern Shore (Dec. 20) before finally rounding up the non-con schedule on Dec. 29 against South Carolina State at home. The Bulldogs will spend nearly one month away from the Hump.

Purcell’s third Bulldog team is breaking in an almost entirely new roster but optimism is still building around the team with the return of Jerkaila Jordan and Debreasha Powe as well as several newcomers. State just announced on Wednesday that the season ticket holders have sold out the lower bowl of season tickets and only general admission tickets remain.
