Texas A&M quarterback Jaylen Henderson totaled 210 yards of offense with two rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns Saturday to lead the Aggies to an easy 51-10 victory over Mississippi State at Kyle Field.

It was Henderson’s first start of the season as he replaced injured starter Max Johnson. Henderson completed 11 of 19 for 150 yards while rushing for 60 yards. The Aggies moved to 6-4 overall to become bowl eligible and improved to 4-3 in the SEC.

Mississippi State dropped to 4-6 overall and just 1-6 in the SEC. Mississippi State freshman quarterback Chris Parson made his first collegiate start but threw three interceptions in his starting debut.

Overall, Parson was 5 of 9 passing for 68 yards while adding 17 rushing yards. Freshman tailback Seth Davis paced State’s offense with 12 carries for 79 yards.

Henderson had a touchdown pass and a touchdown run in the second half as the Aggies’ defense kept State scorless in the second half.

Mississippi State opened the game with a bang thanks to Zavion Thomas. The Bulldog sophomore returned the opening kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown, his first career kickoff return for a score after returning a punt for a score last year against Georgia.

The Aggies continued to dominate State the rest of the half. Ainias Smith hauled in a 19 yard touchdown pass from Henderson to push the lead to 27-10. Then with 1:20 left in the opening half, Henderson added his second touchdown run of the half as the Aggies led 34-10 at halftime.
