Weekly Report: Where to watch Mississippi State Hoops
Going forward, each week, we will have a weekly report on both men and women’s Mississippi State basketball opponents and where fans can find the games on network television, streaming or otherwise. This article will be pinned each week and will also appear as a “sticky” thread on our message boards.
Mississippi State Men’s Hoops
To put it bluntly, it was a poor showing in Columbia for Mississippi State all around this weekend, especially for the men. After one of the poorer rebounding efforts of the season for the Bulldogs, the schedule does not lighten up.
Mississippi State (11-3, 0-1) will play host to Tennessee (11-3, 1-0) on Wednesday night at Humphrey Coliseum, which will be the first match up of a two game home stand for the Bulldogs. The bout with the No. 5 ranked Volunteers will tip off at 6 p.m. and will be aired on the SEC Network. Tennessee has a stiff non-conference slate to thank for its three losses, but make no mistake, the Vols are right where they deserve to be in the rankings.
The road doesn’t get much easier for Mississippi State afterwards, either. The Bulldogs play host to the Alabama Crimson Tide (9-5, 1-0) on Saturday with a late 7:30 p.m. tip off. That game will also air on the SEC Network.
The Bulldogs are staring down the barrel of an 0-3 start to SEC play before taking a road trip to Lexington next week to face off with Kentucky. Mississippi State desperately needs one of these games at home, but it won’t come easy for MSU.

Mississippi State Women’s Hoops
The Mississippi State women ran into a buzzsaw this past week, plainly put. A disappointing effort against Vanderbilt and a bout with No. 1 ranked South Carolina led to MSU dropping its first two conference match ups and saw the Bulldogs drop to a 13-4 record overall.
Mississippi State will have another chance at their first conference win on the road this week, as the Bulldogs travel to Fayetteville to face off against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Thursday, January 11. Mississippi State fans better get their caffeine ready, because like the men’s match up with Alabama, this one is a late tip, starting at 8 p.m. The game will be aired on the SEC Network.
Sunday, January 14, serves as the 2024 debut of a game that both programs have had circled on the calendar, as Mississippi State takes on Ole Miss in Humphrey Coliseum at 4 p.m. That game will air either on the SEC Network or ESPN2.
Similarly, the women don’t need to start SEC play off 0-3. With their current resume’, it only digs the whole deeper in terms of getting back to the NCAA tournament.
