Going forward, each week, we will have a weekly report on both men and women’s Mississippi State basketball opponents and where fans can find the games on network television, streaming or otherwise. This article will be pinned each week and will also appear as a “sticky” thread on our message boards.

Mississippi State Men’s Hoops

After curb stomping LSU on the road to get to a true SEC win streak, the Mississippi State men are playing their best basketball when it matters most.

This week, the Bulldogs have a chance to truly capture every bit of momentum possible before turning their eyes fully towards March. Mississippi State (19-8, 8-6) is close to being a lock for the NCAA Tournament, and a win in Tuesday’s 6 p.m. home matchup with Kentucky would do as much or more for that than anything else. That game will be aired on ESPN.

Following Tuesday’s action, the Bulldogs will have the chance to put the final crescendo on the latter portion of their SEC slate with a road game at No. 11 ranked Auburn. If Mississippi State can come out of the Jungle with a win, it should answer any questions left about the team’s road capabilities. That game airs on ESPN 2 and tips off Saturday at 3 p.m.

With Josh Hubbard playing his best basketball along with the rest of the team finally getting healthy and gelling together, the Mississippi State men are emerging as the SEC darkhorse that no one wants to see come March.

Mississippi State Women’s Hoops

While the men have seemed to put everything together as of late, the woman have faltered in the latter half of their SEC schedule. On a four game skid, the women will have a short break to get right before their next bout.

The rest will end on Thursday, as Mississippi State (20-9, 7-7) travels to Auburn for a late night 7 p.m. tip. That game will be aired on the SEC Network+.

As is tradition at this point, the women will turn around quickly for a Sunday matchup with Missouri back home at Humphrey Coliseum. That game tips off at 2 p.m. and will also be aired on the SEC Network+.

The women should still make the tournament, barring a true late season collapse, but if they’re going to stop the bleeding it has to be now. Selection Sunday will be here before fans know it, and late February to early March is not the time to worry about being on the wrong side of that bubble or not.
