When it seemed like every NC State receiver was covered late in the first half, freshman quarterback CJ Bailey didn’t panic as he looked to extend the Pack’s 3-point lead over Stanford. When his first read wasn’t there, the signal-caller rolled to his left, looking for sophomore wideout Kevin Concepcion.  But the reigning ACC Rookie of the Year was double-teamed as he worked towards the left corner of the end zone, so that wasn’t an option. Again, Bailey didn’t freak out. He stayed composed, cut back towards the right side of the line, seemingly ready to take off and run from the 15-yard line.  That’s when he noticed junior tight end Justin Joly find an open space in the back of the end zone, so Bailey threw across his body, through a tight two-defender window for his first touchdown pass of the afternoon.  Bailey’s ability to be patient and find his big-bodied tight end showed his continued growth as he paced the Wolfpack offense to a 59-28 win over the Cardinal on Saturday afternoon at Carter-Finley Stadium. The first-year starter, in just his fifth as the Pack’s go-to quarterback, finished 18-of-20 passing for 234 yards with three touchdowns and no turnovers to help NC State to its second straight win.
