Following a dazzling camp performance and an exciting conversation with the NC State coaching staff, Brandon Cisse left Raleigh with his first power-five offer. He wasted no time in returning to campus, making the three-hour drive up from South Carolina to visit the school once again Tuesday morning.

The cornerback was on campus three days before for the second day of Dave Doeren football camps. Cisse clocked a 4.45 40-yard-dash and caught the attention of the Wolfpack coaching staff. After receiving a scholarship offer from NC State, Cisse knew he wanted to return for another visit as soon as he could.

“The offer kind of changed things,” he said.

Cisse arrived for his second visit of the week with his family, who was not with him for camp. He wanted them to have the chance to see the school, and they came away as impressed as well.

The Wolfpack recruiting pitch started with the attention of Dave Doeren and several members of the defensive staff. Cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell is Cisse’s primary recruiter and spent pretty much all day with the Lakewood (S.C.) High School prospect. Cisse said he is already forming a great relationship with the coach. Mitchell has also shown the ability to develop cornerbacks into stars before, which Cisse has noticed.

Mitchell’s coaching, combined with the facilities and the current prestige of the program, have made NC State an attractive potential destination on the field.

“Coach [Mitchell], he does a really good job with the corners over there,” Cisse said. “The facilities are A1, so everything was really good and neat. The program is really, really in good hands right now.”

Defensive line coach Charley Wiles, who Cisse already has an established relationship with from his visits to Lakewood, defensive coordinator Tony Gibson, and head ]Doeren all met with Cisse throughout the visit.

“It means a lot just to show that I’m a priority for those guys,” Cisse said. “So I think that means a lot to me and of course my family. They think really well of those guys and really high of those people.”

The Wolfpack staff showed the class of 2023 cornerback what the school is like beyond the field, specifically the academic resources at the university. Cisse mentioned how NC State is the largest public university in the state, which appeals to him, and he appreciated the variety of majors the school offers.

Not only does the football program stand out to Cisse, so does the school itself.

“It’s a really good, genuine vibe,” he said.

Cisse said he enjoyed the visit overall, and the second trip of the week helped open his eyes to what NC State has to offer. This was his third time on campus after visiting for camp and for the Wolfpack’s win over Syracuse last fall.

Although he does not have a timeline set for his commitment, Cisse canceled his remaining official visits to Bowling Green and Middle Tennessee State, and NC State leads his Recruiting Projection Machine (RPM) at 96 percent. He plans to officially visit the Wolfpack in December.
