BREAKING: '25 S Tristan Teasdell commits to NC State
NC State football landed the fourth commitment of its 2025 recruiting class Saturday afternoon when safety Tristan Teasdell picked the Wolfpack. The defensive back from Leesburg (Va.) Tuscarora High also held offers from Pittsburgh, Duke and others.
Teasdell visited NC state for the April 6 spring game and left with a very positive impression of the program. He is scheduled to return to Raleigh June 7-9.
“I loved it,” Teasdell said after his first visit.
Duke, Pittsburgh and Minnesota were also standing out in his recruitment at that point in the cycle.
Safeties coach Joe DeForest is the 6-1, 180-pound rising senior’s primary recruiter. NC State offered him March 25 and quickly made him a top priority in this class. The Wolfpack crowd at the spring game and the program’s defensive scheme both stood out to him during his first time on campus.
He likes how the program’s safeties play aggressive, blitz and match up man-to-man in the slot. During the spring game, Teasdell watched how DeForest coached the position group, and he could see himself fitting into that unit.

“He’s a good coach, coaches with a lot of passion,” Teasdell said. “I could definitely see myself playing for him in a couple of years, possibly.”
Head coach Dave Doeren also spoke with Teasdell during the trip, and he made it clear that the defensive back is a priority for the staff.
“He said I’m one of the top safeties on their board, so I liked that,” Teasdell said.
“I can definitely feel how bad they want me.”
The Wolfpack now holds commitments from Teasdell, who is currently unranked by On3, three-star quarterback Will Wilson, three-star tight end Gus Ritchey and three-star defensive lineman Colby Cronk.
