BREAKING: 3-star CB Caden Gordon commits to NC State
Caden Gordon visited NC State over the weekend and decided he had seen enough. The three-star cornerback from Lake Worth (Fla.) Santaluces Community High committed to the Wolfpack after spending June 7-9 in Raleigh.
He is joining the program’s 2025 recruiting class alongside his teammate and wide receiver commit Jamar Browder. They went into the recruiting process wanting to play together at the next level, and they will have that opportunity at NC State.
The 6-1, 170-pound cornerback picked the Pack over offers from Florida State, UCF, Louisville and others. NC State was his only public official visit. Going into his weekend in Raleigh, he dropped a top-five list that included the Wolfpack, FSU, Illinois, Georgia Tech and USF.
Per On3, he previously planned on visiting the Seminoles in the fall, the long-time projected favorite in his recruitment. Gordon left campus without a decision but committed to the NC State staff June 12.
Cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell is primary recruiter, but Joker Phillips was involved as well. The Wolfpack wide receivers coach stopped by Santaluces High early this year. NC State originally offered him Jan. 25.

“He pulled me out of my fifth period and told me he loves me, loves my size, loves everything he’s seen on my film,” Gordon said. “He broke it all down, and he wants to offer me.”
Gordon previously told TheWolfpacker.com he wanted to feel like a need for his future collegiate program. During his visits, he looked for a collective recruiting effort from the coaching staff, while also learning more about each university’s business school.
On3 considers Gordon the No. 48 cornerback in the country and the No. 58 prospect in Florida’s 2025 class. The 2023 season was his first year playing in the secondary after switching over from receiver. He recorded 16 tackles as a junior, including 14 solo stops, and secured 1 interception.
The cornerback is commitment No. 7 of NC State’s class and the second cornerback pledge, joining three-star prospect Robert Jones III, who also visited over the weekend.
