BREAKING: Arrion Concepcion commits to NC State
NC State has officially established a Concepcion sibling pipeline. Arrion Concepcion announced his commitment to the Wolfpack Sunday. The three-star wide receiver from Charlotte (N.C.) Chambers High joined the class just hours into his official visit.
Concepcion is a well-known name for NC State fans. His older brother KC Concepcion electrified the program’s offense as a true freshman, winning the ACC’s rookie of the year award. Arrion Concepcion is a 5-10, 170-pound pass catcher who will play slot receiver and h-back in Raleigh.
The Wolfpack was the team to beat in his recruitment from start to finish. He also held offers from Virginia Tech, Indiana and Miami. At one point, Concepcion scheduled an official visit with the Hokies for May 31 but pushed it to the fall. That trip is no longer expected to happen.
Virginia Tech was his first Power Four offer Feb. 17, 2023. NC State extended a scholarship 5 days later. Head coach Dave Doeren played a big role in his recruitment and stopped by Chambers High to visit him late last year. Wide receivers coach Joker Phillips prioritized him as well.
“The bond is great, just how it has always been,” Concepcion said in March. “He’s a good wide receivers coach. I can talk to him about anything, hit him up if I need him and stuff like that.”
NC State’s newest commit stopped by campus June 7 for a camp. He worked with quarterback commit Will Wilson on the field and spent more quality time with the staff. Anae took over as his primary recruiter.

“My bond with coach Anae is just as close as coach Joker,” Concepcion said. “Believe it or not, I talk to coach Anae more than I talk to Joker.”
During his recruitment, the receiver took trips to Miami, Virginia Tech and Duke, but there was never a school that approached the momentum NC State held in his recruitment. KC Concepcion recruited him to Raleigh as well. Arrion watched his brother’s breakout season closely and noticed the opportunities the receiver had as a freshman.
Concepcion caught 51 passes for 640 yards and 9 touchdowns in his first season as a full-time starter with Chambers. Now, the sibling legacy will once again team up with his brother in the Wolfpack’s inside receivers room.
He is the No. 8 commit in NC state’s 2025 recruiting class and the second wide receiver alongside three-star prospect Jamar Browder. Concepcion is the No. 165 wide receiver in the country according to the On3 Industry Ranking and the No. 25 prospect in North Carolina.
