BREAKING: Caitlin Weimar commits to NC State women's basketball
NC State women’s basketball picked up a massive commitment from one of the top post players in the transfer portal. Boston University forward Caitlin Weimar, the reigning Patriot League player of the year, is joining the Wolfpack for her final season of eligibility.
The Wolfpack went into this offseason with three open scholarships to work with. Weimar is NC State’s first commitment of the portal window after she officially visited earlier this month.
She exceled on both ends of the court for the Terriers during the 2023-2024 season, scoring 18.7 points and grabbing 10.6 rebounds per game to lead Boston University in both categories. The 6-4 senior forward also blocked 2.8 shots per game and swiped 1.3 steals per contest.
Weimar took home the Patriot League’s defensive player of the year award in each of the past two seasons.

The forward transferred to Boston University from Marist after her freshman season and spent three years with the Terriers. Weimar has one year of eligibility remaining. After winning her conference player of the year award, she entered the transfer portal in March. Notre Dame was her only other known visit.
Hailing from Cortlandt Manor, New York, Weimar’s points and rebounds per game have increased in each of her four seasons of college basketball. She knocked down an efficient 55.3 percent of her shots as a senior.
She has 7 Patriot League player of the week awards and is regarded as one of the most accomplished players in Boston University women’s basketball history. Weimar adds depth to a post player rotation that also consists of sophomore Mallory Collier, reserve graduate student Lizzy Williamson and freshmen Tilda Trygger and Lorena Awou.
