NC State landed an under-the-radar commitment Tuesday afternoon when Deandre Desinor announced his flip from West Virginia to the Wolfpack. After originally signing with the Mountaineers in December, he reopened his recruitment and will sign with his new school this week.

Desinor is the No. 36 running back in the country according to the On3 Industry Ranking and the No. 475 recruit nationally. The Delray Beach (Fla.) Atlantic High standout took a low key official visit to NC State earlier this week and committed silently during the trip.

After spending a couple of days in Raleigh, Desinor made up his mind, flipping from the Mountaineers with plans to sign and enroll with the program by the end of the week. He will officially join the Wolfpack in time to go through winter workouts

The three-star prospect is the lone prep running back signee in NC State’s 2025 class. Standing 5-8.5, 175 pounds, Desinor finished his senior season with 711 yards on 108 carries, averaging 6.6 yards per attempt and scoring 8 touchdowns. The Pack commit wrapped up his high school career with more than 3,000 rushing yards.

He’s a versatile running back who also caught 28 passes for 302 yards and 3 more scores this fall. On special teams, he averaged 30.9 yards per kick return, adding another touchdown to his season total, and logged 16.2 yards per punt return.

West Virginia secured his original commitment June 3 after a summer official visit. He remained solid with the Mountaineers until a coaching change opened the door for NC State. Desinor also held offers from Texas, Miami, Penn State, Florida State, Texas A&M and others.

Running backs coach Todd Goebbel was his primary recruiter. The most recent Wolfpack commit was high school teammates with fellow NC State signee Teddy Hoffmann. Desinor is the fifth-highest ranked commit and the No. 22 pledge in the ACC’s No. 8 class.
