Omarian Abraham considers NC State one of his dreams schools. He picked up an offer from the Wolfpack in May, officially visited the program June 21-23 and publicly committed Monday afternoon after informing the staff of his decision Saturday.

The class of 2025 prospect from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage High is NC State’s second defensive line commit of this cycle. He picked the Pack over offers from West Virginia, Pittsburgh and others. NC State was the only program to host him for an official visit.

Abraham did not wait for his official visit to end before shutting down his recruitment. The defensive lineman knew he found his collegiate home. NC State’s coaching staff made him feel wanted. Even though this was his first time on campus, he already thought very highly of the program.

“I really like the school,” Abraham told TheWolfpacker.com after picking up the offer in May. “That’s one of my dream schools right there. I’ve been watching them on TV since I was a little kid.”

Defensive lineman Charley Wiles built a strong connection with Abraham before the official visit by communicating frequently and not always focusing on football. The Wolfpack assistant would reach out just to check in on him and his family.

NC State’s newest commit knows the program’s history of development. Going into the summer, the Pack sat tied for the second-most defensive tackles on an NFL roster with seven. That piqued Abraham’s interest. He believes in Wiles’ ability to develop him.

“It’s the d-linemen that they produce right now,” Abraham said. “The d-linemen that are in the NFL right now that came from NC State, they’re dawgs.”

Abraham, who measures 6-2, 280 pounds, will play nose tackle in Raleigh and is unranked for now. He is the No. 11 commit in NC State’s class and the No. 4 prospect to pledge to the Pack over the past couple of days.

The lineman recorded 75 total tackles for American Heritage last fall, including 14 stops for loss and 3 sacks. NC State was his only official visit destination.
