Butler transfer F Colt Langdon commits to NC State

Sometimes it takes leaving home to realize that’s where you were meant to be. It might be what Butler transfer Colt Langdon, a former Raleigh (N.C.) Millbrook star, found out at the college ranks.
And now, he can know for sure as he committed to NC State on Thursday night.
The 6-foot-7 power forward visited the Wolfpack over the weekend after he redshirted this past season with the Bulldogs. Langdon has four years of eligibility remaining.
Originally a 2025 recruit, Langdon reclassified to join the Bulldogs a year early after committing to Butler over the likes of LSU, Ole Miss and Virginia Tech.
Although he didn’t appear in a game this past season, Langdon was a local star during his high school career. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 26.4 points, 10 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.5 blocks as a junior in his final season with the Wildcats, a tenure in which he set the program’s scoring record with 1,758 points.

Langdon’s 738 points as a junior remains Millbrook’s most-prolific scoring campaign ever, while he finished his prep career as a 37 percent 3-point shooter.
NC State has six scholarships available for the 2025-26 campaign. Langdon joins McNeese guards Alyn Breed and Quadir Copeland, and Michigan State guard Tre Holloman as the Wolfpack’s first three portal pickups of the offseason.
The Pack also garnered a commitment from Tampa (Fla.) Sagemont Prep four-star guard Matt Able, while sophomore guard Paul McNeil Jr. is the only returning scholarship player from last year’s squad.
