The linebacker visited for NC State’s win over Texas Tech last season, and that is when he knew he was going to run with the Pack. Lewis was excited about playing at NC State, especially for defensive coordinator Tony Gibson.
Why Lewis picked NC State
“I think they play with incredible toughness, which is important to me,” Lewis said. “That’s a big staple on my high school football team. We always preach toughness, and there’s not many guys tougher than the Wolfpack defense.
“Coach Gibson is nothing short of a defensive genius. I would have a very hard time passing up the opportunity to be coached by coach Gibson and all the surrounding staff. The program that Dave Doeren has built, with its model consistency and ability to retain coaches, is just awesome. It made it really easy to pull the trigger and very difficult to pass up.”
