3-star defensive lineman Chase Bond signs with NC State
NC State’s defensive line got deeper on national signing day. Chase Bond, a three-star defensive lineman out of Massillon (Ohio) Washington High signed with the Wolfpack on Wednesday.
Bond, a force on the defensive front, helped lead his high school to a dominant state championship, which included a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown to cap the 55-7 win in the title game. He helped the Tigers win their first state ring in 53 years, and a top-10 MaxPreps ranking with his dominant effort.

How Bond ended up at NC State
Bond took an official visit to Raleigh in June, and his recruitment took off like a rocket once he was on campus. Before his offer arrived, he had a good feeling about getting an offer. That came, and so did his commitment to the Wolfpack on the final day of his trip.

NC State was his first Power Fiver offer, and Bond was locked in with the Wolfpack, even though other schools were recruiting him.
Why Bond picked NC State
“All of the events and everything were cool, but my favorite thing was just the people,” Bond said. “I’m from Ohio. Up north, everybody’s a lot meaner but, down south, it’s just overall better.”
What Bond brings to NC State
“Just violence,” Bond said. “I just want to come off with great hands, just refusing to be denied. Whoever’s playing me, it doesn’t matter, just get through them and hunt the quarterback.”
