NC State landed a commitment on the final day of the Early Signing Period when three-star FAU wide receiver commit Teddy Hoffmann announced that he will sign with the Wolfpack this week after a hotly contested recruitment.

Florida State looked like the favorite for the dynamic slot receiver prospect after offering earlier this week. The Pack held off the late run from the Seminoles, and Hoffmann felt comfortable enough to leave his home state and join NC State’s class.

He is the No. 251 wide receiver in the country, and his recruitment picked up steam in the final weeks of the recruiting cycle as he wrapped up a huge senior season that included 69 catches for 1179 yards and 23 touchdowns for Boca Raton (Fla.) Atlantic High.

In the final game of his high school career, Hoffmann caught 12 passes for 240 yards and 4 touchdowns against Florida powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas. NC State offered the Sunshine State playmaker Nov. 17, and he took an official visit to see the Pack the following weekend.

“It was really motivating when I got an ACC offer,” Hoffmann said. “It felt good. It’s a big program, and that was kind of the first thing I thought. I was like, ‘Dang, this is a big school, a great opportunity.’ And then, they’re just good people too on top of that.”

Hoffmann told TheWolfpacker.com after picking up his Wolfpack offer that he plans on enrolling in January. Wide receivers coach Joker Phillips was his primary recruiter.

“I think he’s a really cool guy,” Hoffmann said. “He’s laid back, and he seems like he really knows a lot.”

He also held offers from Nebraska and Boston College. FAU battled hard to keep him in the Owls’ class as well despite a head coaching change.

NC State now heads into January with two wide receiver commitments. Standing 6-0, 165 pounds, Hoffmann has the versatility to play in the slot and outside. He joined four-star signee Jerel Bolder in the 2025 class.
