Even though Miami Norland three-star EDGE Adrian Farrow committed to Florida Atlantic last summer, NC State defensive line coach Charley Wiles didn’t stop recruiting him. That persistence paid off in the long run.

Wiles was able to land a commitment from the rising defensive end just hours before the February signing period opens Wednesday. Farrow took an official visit to NC State over the weekend before he pledged to the Wolfpack on Monday afternoon Feb. 3.

“The coaches made me their top priority,” Farrow told TheWolfpacker.com “They explained what I’ll be doing. I’m good with the style. … They get after it. And we’re going to turn things around in Raleigh.”

It wasn’t Farrow’s first trip to NC State. He was a standout performer during a camp last June, which led to the Wolfpack keeping tabs on him throughout his senior campaign. That, coupled with D.J. Eliot’s scheme that will feature edge rushers on a consistent basis, allowed for the Wolfpack to get firmly back into the mix.

Farrow posted a standout senior season at Norland High. He logged 83 total tackles (62 solo, 21 assists) with 18 for a loss, including 12 sacks, in 12 games. That was an uptick from his junior campaign, which featured just 46 total stops, 14 tackles for a loss and 8 sacks in 11 games.

The official visit, however, was the piece that sealed the deal for Farrow. Despite braving a 40-degree day on campus, the 120th-rated prospect from Florida was taken aback by the welcome he received.

“The atmosphere, the energy of the people in Raleigh [were good]” Farrow said. “I was just walking around and people wanted to take pictures. It definitely felt good.”

While he was on the visit, Farrow met with a pair of fellow Florida natives, running back Deandre Desinor and wide receiver Teddy Hoffman — also a former FAU commit who NC State flipped. Farrow knew of the two by playing against them in a spring tournament earlier in high school, but this was the first time he had sat down to talk with either of them.

Farrow found comfort in joining a team that has a fair amount of representation from his home state. He’s the seventh player the Wolfpack will have signed from Florida in its 2025 recruiting class — the most of any state.

“We all are going in there with the same mindset of where we come from,” Farrow said. “We definitely have a chip on our shoulder, and we’re going to use that to our advantage.”

By the time Farrow was on the plane back to Miami, he knew where he wanted to go. NC State felt like home, and that’s the decision he made after deliberating with his parents on the flight. He officially told the Pack coaching staff on Sunday evening while he was at the beach, which completed his recruitment for good.

“I had a lot of time to think about it,” Farrow said. “I finally came to the decision that I wanted to be a part of the Wolfpack.”

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive lineman is the Wolfpack’s 22nd — and likely final (barring any surprise flips on signing day) — commitment to the 2025 recruiting cycle. He will sign Wednesday along with San Antonio (Texas) Karen Wagner three-star linebacker Ke’Von Carter and Arlington (Texas) Seguin linebacker LaCorian Hodge

Farrow, who recently finished wrestling and is preparing for his high school track season as a shot putter, can’t wait until he arrives on campus over the summer. His main goal is to help the Wolfpack back to its winning ways on a weekly basis.

“I’m looking forward to being a game changer at NC State,” Farrow said. “They only lost a few games by one score or because of a turnover. We’re definitely going to build on those things and become better.”
