Emptying the Notebook: NC State DB Tamarcus Cooley shows growth, OL Tim McKay evolves and more

Tamarcus Cooley’s unfinished tattoo on his right shoulder features the various stops of his football career. It has Knightdale High’s logo prominently displayed, while NC State’s ‘Block S’ logo is underneath. He’s still yet to add the Maryland and Rolesville High School logos, but those are on the way.  And just as Cooley’s latest addition to his body is a work in progress, his understanding of NC State’s 3-3-5 defense was this spring. But now, he has appeared to work in the right direction, slotting in as the Wolfpack’s backup nickel to open fall camp.
