Former Maryland DL commit Brian Harris’ bond with Charley Wiles has NC State firmly in the mix

Each year as Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin three-star defensive lineman Brian Harris emerged as a Division I football prospect, a familiar face made sure to stop by his school to see him: NC State defensive line coach Charley Wiles.  Whether it was just to say hello or give him advice, Wiles’ presence in the school and throughout his recruitment was noticeable — even though the Wolfpack hadn’t even offered yet. That routine communication led Harris to visiting Raleigh last summer, where Wiles went over his film and was looking for just a few more things added to his tape.  And as his junior season came and went, Harris put exactly what Wiles was looking for on film. That led to an offer this past January, despite his commitment to Maryland at the time.  Harris, however, decommitted from Maryland this past weekend and set an official visit with NC State
