After spending five seasons at NC State, former Wolfpack cornerback Aydan White earned an opportunity to prove himself in the NFL. He signed an undrafted rookie free agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday evening, the football program announced.

White logged 159 total tackles in his tenure with the Wolfpack, including a career-best 59 this past season, in addition to 30 passes defended, nine interceptions, two touchdowns and two sacks.

The Asheville, N.C., native broke out onto the scene during the 22 campaign when he had 46 tackles with nine passes defended and four interceptions to emerge as one of the top cornerbacks in the ACC. He earned first-team all-league honors, and as a result, teams stopped throwing his direction as often.

White was targeted 82 times in the 2022 season, but only saw 65 passes thrown his way in 2023 as a third-team All-ACC performer and just 56 during the 2024 season. In turn, his on-ball production dropped with 10 passes defended and two interceptions in 2023 and just five pass breakups and one interception in his final collegiate campaign.

While the targets decreased, White was still able to make his presence felt as a physical corner. He consistently made life difficult for opposing wide receivers and was able to make tackles in space — both off completions and in run support.

In all, White finished his Wolfpack career as one of the most-tenured players on the team’s vaunted 3-3-5 defense under coordinator Tony Gibson. He earned the coaching staff’s trust to be left on an island alone, making plays in man coverage. Now, he’s looking to do the same as a professional with the Jaguars.

NC State had just one draft pick this season as offensive tackle Anthony Belton was selected with the 54th overall pick by the Green Bay Packers in Friday night’s second round. The Wolfpack has produced 30 draft picks through coach Dave Doeren’s first 12 seasons in Raleigh, including seven offensive linemen.
