When Grayson McCall went through the recruitment process for the first time out of Indian Trail (N.C.) Porter Ridge High in 2019, power conference schools weren’t interested. But after a stellar five-year career at Coastal Carolina, they were in full pursuit when the signal-caller jumped in the transfer portal.  Soon after, he narrowed his options down to NC State and UCF, and the quarterback eventually chose the Wolfpack. Now, McCall has just over six months of experience at the helm of NC State’s offense after he arrived through the portal in January. The Sun Belt Conference’s first-ever three-time Player of the Year, McCall was handed the proverbial keys to the Wolfpack’s offense for his final year of eligibility.
