Impact analysis: What Norfolk State transfer LB AJ Richardson’s commitment means for NC State

A year ago, NC State dipped into the transfer portal and emerged with a two-year FCS defender in cornerback Devon Marshall. That addition panned out for the Pack with his standout play in Raleigh. Now, the Pack went down that route again as it added Norfolk State linebacker AJ Richardson on Wednesday afternoon.  Richardson, a 6-foot-1, 245-pound linebacker, brings an All-MEAC pedigree to NC State after he was named a first team selection this past fall, which followed up a second-team honor from his freshman year in 2023.  Here’s what Richardson’s addition to NC State’s defense means for the Wolfpack moving forward.
