Instant observations: NC State edges Syracuse in overtime win

NC State thought it did enough to win in regulation against Syracuse. The Wolfpack forced a missed three-pointer with less than a second left, but the officials called a foul on the floor with 0.1 seconds left instead. The Orange were able to knock down a pair of free throws and force overtime, but the Wolfpack did enough in the bonus period to come away with a 75-71 win on Thursday night at Reynolds Coliseum. Junior guard Saniya Rivers led the Pack with 19 points, while graduate forward Mimi Collins added 15. Graduate center River Baldwin chipped in with her sixth double-double of the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
