NC State seemed to settle for 3-pointer after 3-pointer that were mostly all off the mark in the fourth quarter against Miami, which allowed the Hurricanes to tie the game in the waning minutes of the game. But when it mattered the most, the Wolfpack went to the rim to find the go-ahead bucket. Sophomore guard Zoe Brooks, who had made just three of her first 10 shots, cut straight to the hoop for an easy layup to give NC State the lead with 46 seconds to play. That basket was a rare 2-point attempt from the Pack, which took nine of its first 16 shots from deep. Brooks' lay-in was all No. 10 NC State needed to win its eighth straight as it downed Miami 76-74 on Thursday night at Reynolds Coliseum. The Wolfpack held serve and maintained its second-place spot in the ACC standings. Senior guard Madison Hayes led the Wolfpack with 19 points, while senior guard Aziaha James added 15 and freshman forward Tilda Trygger added 10. Here are three observations from NC State's win.
