Call it the Aziaha James game. When No. 14 NC State needed her the most, its senior standout rose the occasion with No. 10 Duke on the other side of Reynolds Coliseum. The Pack, which trailed by as many as 13 points, powered past the Blue Devils 89-83 on Monday night at James took over the contest. James, who has scored in double figures in every game this season, was the Wolfpack's most consistent player on the floor in what was an turbulent game for NC State. The Wolfpack's comeback effort, which featured 57 second-half points, was punctuated by James' ability to score at will. She finished the night with a career-high 36 points on 15-of-19 shooting, including a pair of made 3-pointers. While James was cruising on the floor, NC State helped her out as senior guard Saniya Rivers scored 13 and sophomore guard Zoe Brooks chipped in with 15 in the win. As a team, NC State shot 61 percent from the field, including a 30.8 percent clip from deep. The Pack, meanwhile, limited the Blue Devils to 42.7 percent from the floor with a 45.8 percent clip from 3-point distance. Here are three observations from the Pack's seventh straight win.
