BREAKING: JUCO LB Wyatt Wright commits to NC State
NC State’s hot recruiting success continued with a commitment from junior college linebacker Wyatt Wright Monday morning.
Wright logged 82 tackles with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College as a sophomore. That garnered an offer from the Wolfpack, as well as Arizona, Houston and UCF.
Wright projects to play as an outside linebacker for the Wolfpack and he is a play-maker in space.
“I see myself being a speed guy, running through holes, really being out and free, taking guy’s heads off,” Wright told TheWolfpacker.com ahead of his visit in Raleigh.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker was all over the field this fall and he had four games with 10 or more total tackles, including an 18-tackle performance against East Mississippi Community College and a 17-tackle game against Copiah-Lincoln Community College in a three-week span.
Wright played his freshman season at Fresno City College, where he recorded 14 total tackles in seven games.

Wright was attracted to the Wolfpack for its ability to develop talent under defensive coordinator Tony Gibson, who will be his position coach when he arrives on campus.
“Just really the resume they have,” Wright said. “They have a certain standard of sending guys places where they want to go, developing guys into good players.”
Wright visited Raleigh over the weekend after he visited UCF and USF. He chose the Pack as his destination just three days before signing day, and he will ink his commitment with NC State on Wednesday. Wright will enroll with the red and white in January ahead of spring practice.
