NC State defense shuts down Texas Tech, moves to 3-0

FINAL: The Wolfpack moves to 3-0 and picks up its first power-five victory of the season.

Freshman running back Demie Sumo-Karngbaye led the team in receiving yards with 93 and finished second in rushing with 57 yards. The Wolfpack sacked the quarterback 4 times.

Aydan White intercepts his second pass of the game, and NC State is on the brink of victory. The Wolfpack forced four turnovers tonight.

Baker-Williams is out of the medical tent and embracing his teammates on the sidelines. He’s jogging a little to test out his leg.

Defensive back Tyler Baker-Williams left the game with an apparent lower-body injury on Texas Tech’s drive, but an impressive stand on third-and-short by Savion Jackson and Isaiah Moore forces a bad punt.

The Wolfpack got down into the red zone, but penalties really hurt the Pack on that drive. Chris Dunn makes the 29-yard field goal to put NC State up 3-0 with 7:39 left in the first quarter.

NC State’s promising first drive fizzles out after a block in the back, but Texas Tech fumbles the punt and long snapper Joe Shimko recovers it inside the Red Raiders’ 15-yard line.

On the first play of the game, Payton Wilson delivers a HUGE hit on the quarterback as he let go of the ball. A deep pass barely falls incomplete, and NC State forces a three-and-out.
