NC State is looking into alleged racist fan behavior before UNC game

NC State is looking into alleged racist fan behavior at Reynolds Coliseum that reportedly occurred before the Wolfpack’s women’s basketball contest with UNC Thursday night.

Per reporting from tarheeltribune.com, a Black North Carolina women’s basketball player and staff members heard a fan call the player a racial slur as the team ran onto the court.

NC State Athletics issued the following statement to TheWolfpacker.com Friday.

“As soon as we were made aware of an allegation following the women’s basketball game Thursday evening, NC State Athletics began looking into the matter and will continue to do so. NC State is committed to ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment for all, on our campus and in the world around us.”

North Carolina women’s basketball coach Courtney Banghart posted the following tweet Friday morning.
