There will be 4 ACC games before the month of December is over, with the conference opener for NC State coming Dec. 2 against Pittsburgh at PNC Arena in Raleigh. The month shapes up as a challenging one for the Wolfpack. In addition to the early league contests that also includes a road trip to Miami and hosting Louisville, NC State will play Vanderbilt in Chicago and host a credible mid-major opponent in Furman, which has won at least 22 games in all but the shortened 2020-21 campaign over the past 5 seasons.
The month ends with NC State traveling to Clemson either on Dec. 30 or 31. If the date is the former, that would be one of two rare Friday conference games, along with the opener against Pitt.
The first opponent after New Year’s will be new Duke head coach Jon Scheyer’s first time in his official capacity at PNC Arena against NC State. That game will be Wednesday, Jan. 4.
NC State basketball’s other in-state rivals will visit as part of a 3-game home stand from Feb. 19-25. North Carolina comes to Raleigh Feb. 19, followed by Wake Forest 3 days later and then Clemson to close out the stretch Feb. 25.

Path for ACC outlined
The last regular season game will be at Duke on Tuesday, Feb. 28. Then NC State basketball will be the lone conference team to have an off weekend prior to the ACC Tournament, which is held in Greensboro, N.C., from March 7-11.
Following a 3-game road stretch that concludes with a trip to Syracuse on Valentine’s Day, NC State will not have to leave the state of North Carolina until any potential NCAA Tournament or NIT action a month later.
While almost all the dates and opponents are known, only the Nov. 23 showdown with defending national champion Kansas in the Bahamas as part of the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis has a designated time and television partner. That game will be noon on ESPN.
