Final stats from NC State basketball loss at Miami.

NC State basketball led 73-68 with less than seven minutes to go, but Miami used an 18-2 surge to pull away and prevail 91-83 in Coral Gables, Fla., on Wednesday evening.

The Pack had led by as many as eight points during the second half.

With the defeat, NC State’s losing streak is extended to four games and the Pack falls to 7-6 overall and 0-2 in the ACC. Miami won its sixth straight and is 10-3 and 2-0.

NC State basketball received strong contributions from some of its veterans, notably senior forward Jericole Hellems, who had 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting and eclipsed 1,000 points for his career during the game.

Fifth-year senior guard Thomas Allen had his best game of his season by contributing 13 points off the bench, and redshirt sophomore wing Dereon Seabron had another double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Seabron also had a team-high six assists.

However, the starting backcourt of sophomore Cam Hayes and freshman Terquavion Smith struggled, going a combined 5 of 23 from the field, and Hayes was held scoreless in 25 minutes.

Miami’s three-point shooting led to a big night for the Hurricanes’ scoring, as it shot 10 of 19 from beyond the arc. Guard Jordan Miller led the way with 25 points and made 4 of 6 threes. Guard Isaiah Wong was especially strong during the Miami run and finished with 19 points.

Guard Kameron McGusty added 20 points.

Above is the final box score from the game.

NC State basketball is scheduled to be back in action Saturday at PNC Arena in Raleigh against Florida State. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. and it will be broadcast on ACC Network.
