NC State beat Mount Olive, 89-79, in its final exhibition game ahead of the 2023-24 season Wednesday night at PNC Arena. The Wolfpack featured five players in double figures, and two more on the cusp of that, in a balanced offensive effort as it looks to replace the scoring output of guards Terquavion Smith and Jarkel Joiner from a year ago. NC State was without Kansas transfer MJ Rice, who is working his way back after he took an extended leave of absence due to personal reasons, and North Carolina A&T transfer Kam Woods for the exhibition victory. Here are observations of all the scholarship players from the game, listed in alphabetical order.
