NC State C Zeke Correll wants to 'raise the standard' as a leader

Shortly after Notre Dame transfer center Zeke Correll arrived at NC State through the portal in January, he felt his pectoral muscle give way on the bench press. It wasn’t a pleasant feeling, and it was uncharted territory for Correll, who had never suffered a major injury during his football career.  But here he was, sidelined for spring practice and in a sling. It was not the preferred situation for Correll to be in, but it soon put him in shoes he hadn’t been before: Watching spring practice without a helmet on.  At first, it seemed challenging for Correll. Then, it helped him become a better leader as he had to observe and root his teammates on before taking charge — a key part of his decision to transfer to NC State for his final season of college football. But here he was, sidelined for fall camp and in a sling.
