NC State CB Brandon Cisse to enter transfer portal
NC State sophomore cornerback Brandon Cisse will enter the transfer portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett Thursday evening. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
Cisse, who started at outside corner this past season, did not play in the Wolfpack’s 26-21 loss to East Carolina in the Military Bowl last week. The Wolfpack’s players had until Thursday to enter the transfer portal, and Cisse was the only one to announce his decision on the cut off day.
The Sumter, S.C., native previously announced his intention to return through Savage Wolves, NC State’s NIL collective, on Dec. 6. Cisse logged 28 total tackles, including 1.5 for a loss, with five passes defended in nine games this season as he dealt with injuries.
Cisse posted a season-best six tackles in the Wolfpack’s 24-17 win over Northern Illinois on Sept. 28 before he missed the entire month of October due to what appeared to be an arm injury. The cornerback returned for NC State’s last four games of the season, which included a two pass breakup day against Stanford on Nov. 2.

This was Cisse’s first year as the Wolfpack’s starting outside corner as he was the team’s go-to dime package defensive back as a freshman. He impressed in that role, which included his first-career interception to seal NC State’s win over Miami on Nov. 4, 2023. Cisse logged 10 total tackles during his freshman campaign.
Cisse’s departure leaves the Wolfpack having to replace both of its starting cornerbacks going into next season. Senior Aydan White is out of eligibility, which likely makes former Villanova transfer Devon Marshall the Wolfpack’s top outside corner going into the offseason. While he is headed for the transfer portal, Cisse does have the option to return to NC State. White was in a similar situation last offseason as he entered his name into the portal, but opted to withdraw it and went back to the Wolfpack for his final season of eligibility.
But if he does not, NC State will most likely look to target a transfer portal cornerback before the Pack begins the 2025 season against ECU on Aug. 30.
