NC State climbs into AP and coaches poll top-10
NC State took care of business during the non-conference portion of its 2022 schedule. The Wolfpack won all four of its non-conference games after blowing out UConn Saturday. Now, the programs turns its attention to a packed conference slate with a top-10 ranking in both polls.
In its second-consecutive primetime matchup Saturday night, NC State defeated the Huskies 41-10 and picked up a top-10 ranking in both the AP and coaches poll. The Wolfpack climbed one spot in the coaches poll after losses by Oklahoma and Arkansas. Tennessee jumped past NC State after defeating Florida.

Contenders for Julian Humphrey
In the AP Poll, NC State climbed two spots and sits behind Oklahoma State in the rankings. This sets up for a top-10 matchup with Clemson, who check in to the poll at No. 5. Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren talked about the Tigers after seeing them defeat Wake Forest in overtime.
“I thought their quarterback really played well today,” Doeren said. “That’s the best I’ve seen him play. He was accurate, his guys made plays for him, his O-line protected him, he wasn’t on the ground a whole lot. I thought [Will] Shipley ran really hard.”
