NC State’s starting defense has taken a hit this offseason, either due to graduation, the transfer portal or the NFL Draft. The Pack has lost seven starters from this past season’s unit, including the veteran presence of graduate linebacker Payton Wilson. While Wilson’s departure to the NFL Draft was anticipated, the Wolfpack lost both of its starting outside cornerbacks, redshirt junior Shyheim Battle (NFL Draft) and junior Aydan White (transfer portal). On top of that, starting nickel Robert Kennedy III’s eligibility expired after his lone season in Raleigh. The Wolfpack has several holes to fill on the defense, but its secondary will be the most intriguing to watch since it lost its two lockdown starting cornerbacks. Here’s a look at who NC State could turn to at the starting corner spots.
