NC State Football Offense Depth Chart
Quarterback

13 | Devin Leary | R-Jr. | 6-1, 215 | Sicklerville, N.J. |
14 | Jack Chambers | Sr. | 5-10, 180 | Lilburn, Ga. |
16 | MJ Morris | Fr. | 6-2, 192 | Carrollton, Ga. |
Leary completed 17 of 33 passes for 211 yards and a touchdown and an interception in his season debut and will hope to improve on his performance.
Meanwhile, could Week 2 vs. Charleston Southern be the debut of Chambers for NC State football, ironically against the team he transferred from after being an all-conference performer a year ago?
Running back
No. | Name | Class | Ht., Wt. | Hometown |
3 | Jordan Houston | Jr. | 5-10, 192 | Waldorf, Md. |
OR 0 | Demie Sumo-Karngbaye | So. | 6-0, 210 | Willingboro, N.J. |

34 | Delbert Mimms III | R-So. | 5-11, 215 | Indianapolis, Ind. |
Houston was the primary running back last season, in for 42 plays vs. East Carolina, carrying 15 times for 55 yards and catching 3 passes for 25 yards.
Sumo-Karngbaye however left a big impression getting his first career carries for NC State, gathering 14 rushes for 79 yards and a score. Those two received all of the snaps at running back against East Carolina.
His performance added an “OR” to the depth chart this week.
Slot Receiver
No. | Name | Class | Ht., Wt. | Hometown |
5 | Thayer Thomas | R-Sr. | 6-0, 195 | Wake Forest, N.C. |
4 | Porter Rooks | So. | 6-1, 195 | Charlotte, N.C. |
21 | Jalen Coit | R-Fr. | 5-11, 171 | Cheraw, S.C. |
Thomas was arguably the standout receiver against East Carolina for NC State, grabbing 4 passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. Rooks played 21 snaps and was targeted once but failed to make a reception Saturday.
They were the only two on the slot receiver depth chart to play on offense against ECU.
Outside Receiver
No. | Name | Class | Ht., Wt. | Hometown |
15 | Keyon Lesane | Jr. | 5-11, 190 | Lumberton, N.C. |
8 | Julian Gray | R-Fr. | 5-11, 197 | Charlotte, N.C. |
84 | Jasiah Provillon | R-Jr. | 6-2, 205 | Irvington, N.J. |
Lesane earned the start and had a nice 24-yard catch on a play-action pass that set up one of the two touchdowns on offense for NC State, a Sumo-Karngbaye run on the next snap. Although second on the depth chart, Gray had less snaps (4) than Provillon (12). Gray finished with a 6-yard catch in the red zone.
Outside Receiver
No. | Name | Class | Ht., Wt. | Hometown |

In a change from last week’s depth chart, an “OR” was added with Carter and Jones.
Smith was in for just 2 plays Saturday.

87 | Kameron Walker | R-So. | 6-5, 250 | Camden, N.C. |
The loss of fifth-year redshirt junior Trent Pennix for 4-6 weeks with a non-surgical injury means that either Seabrough or Walker will make their first career start Saturday. Seabrough saw 17 plays Saturday while Walker had 14.
Our original pick for the backup spot, third-year redshirt freshman Ezemdi Udoh, is also a contender.
