NC State football recruiting class jumps in top 25 of 2023 rankings
The NC State football recruiting class for 2023 is still in its infancy stages, but early impressions are good.
A new round of commitments sparked some movement in the On3 Team Recruiting Ranking. The top three schools — USC, Notre Dame and Georgia — held on to the top spots in the rankings. But elsewhere, a handful of teams, like Texas, NC State, Mississippi State and Indiana, have made moves after recent commitments.
After landing a verbal commitment from On3 Consensus four-star tight end Javonte Vereen from Havelock (N.C.) High elevated the Wolfpack into the No. 22 spot in the team rankings:
“Javonte Vereen was a massive get last week for the Wolfpack,” On3’s Jeremy Crabtree wrote. “Not only is he a top 15 tight end in the country, but he’s also one of the top six players in North Carolina. Landing him was a really solid recruiting victory for NC State coach Dave Doeren over Maryland and Louisville. Early QB three-star commit Lex Thomas is another big piece of the 2023 class.”
In addition to Vereen and Thomas, the NC State football recruiting class for 2023 also has a pledge from On3 Consensus three-star offensive tackle Darion Rivers from West Charlotte High.
