NC State G Kam Woods enters transfer portal
NC State junior guard Kam Woods has entered the transfer portal, TheWolfpacker.com and On3 learned Wednesday afternoon. He is the second scholarship player to depart the team, joining sophomore LJ Thomas, who entered the portal in early March.
The Wolfpack has two open scholarships to use going into the 2024-25 campaign.
Woods, a former North Carolina A&T transfer, appeared in 13 games with the Wolfpack this season. He averaged 1.2 points and 0.8 rebounds a game in his contests with the Pack.
The 6-foot-2 guard scored 9 points in his season debut against Tennessee, but then scored 2 points on three different occasions. Woods last appeared in the Pack’s ACC Tournament second round win over Syracuse, where he played three minutes.
Woods missed the team’s first nine games while waiting for a decision on his two-time transfer waiver. He was granted immediate eligibility through a court ruling in West Virginia, which allowed all two-time transfers to play as soon as possible.
