NC State G Marcus Hill enters transfer portal

The mass exodus continues. NC State senior guard Marcus Hill entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, becoming the sixth Wolfpack player to do so since Kevin Keatts was fired. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Hill joins forwards Ismael Diouf, Ben Middlebrooks, Dennis Parker Jr., as well as guards Bryce Heard and Mike James in the portal. NC State has eight available scholarships for the 2025-26 season.
Hill finished the season as NC State’s leading scorer with 11.5 points on 45.3 percent shooting, while he added 3.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists in his lone campaign with the Wolfpack.

While Hill logged 15 double-figure scoring efforts across 17 games from early December through mid-February, the jump to the ACC proved to be a learning experience for Hill, who utilizes a throwback style of basketball of slashing to the rim with his 6-foot-4, 185-pound frame. He was able to score inside the arc, but struggled from beyond the 3-point line with a 20.5 percent clip.
The former Bowling Green transfer arrived in Raleigh with one year of eligibility remaining, but he benefited from a December court ruling that allowed Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia an extra year of eligibility as a former junior college athlete. The NCAA expanded that to any player in their final playing year to obtain one more season of eligibility.
NC State has nine scholarships remaining for the 2025-26 season.
