NC State lands commitment from 3-star G RJ Greer
NC State’s Class of 2025 recruiting is officially under way. The Wolfpack picked up its first commitment from three-star Archbishop Alter (Ohio) guard RJ Greer, he told On3’s Joe Tipton Sunday afternoon.
Greer made a trip to Raleigh on an official visit last week and he enjoyed it with his family in tow. His father, Ricardo, had not seen the campus yet, and the visit seemed to strengthen Greer’s love for the Pack.
NC State appeared to make a big enough impression on Greer’s recruitment for him to commit since he was not planning to make a decision until later this month or in early July. Now, the guard will fill one of at least eight open scholarships the Wolfpack will have following the 2023-24 season.
Greer, Ohio’s third-ranked player in the state, also had significant interest from Cincinnati and Penn State throughout his recruitment, but he landed on the Pack.
The Dayton, Ohio, native spent time with NC State at the Final Four in Phoenix, which seemed to continue to keep the Wolfpack at the front of Greer’s recruitment.

“I watched every single game from the ACC Tournament onwards,” Greer told TheWolfpacker.com last month. “Watching the Virginia game was big time. I had Dayton to cheer on just because of my dad, but I also had NC State to cheer on throughout the whole entire tournament. We went to the Final Four, so I got to talk to the coaches a little bit. That was really nice.”
Wolfpack coach Kevin Keatts took the lead on Greer’s recruitment, while assistant Kareem Richardson also was a part of the process.
