Junior college right-handed pitcher Landon Carr committed to NC State baseball Thursday morning. He announced the decision on social media, joining the Pack after two seasons with Gaston College.
The Waxhaw, N.C., native’s commitment adds another arm to the Wolfpack pitching staff that looks to be very deep in 2025. He made 18 appearances during Gaston’s 2023-2024 campaign, starting 6 matchups.
During his sophomore season, he recorded a 7-1 record with 4 saves and 2 complete games. Carr finished the year with a dominant 1.88 ERA across 48 innings pitched, picking up first-team all-region honors. During his sophomore season, Gaston College made history as the school’s first every No. 1-ranked team. Carr also won the region’s relief pitcher of the year award.

The pitcher signed with Campbell at one point but reopened his recruitment following a coaching change. According to his Twitter, Carr throws a fastball 91-94 miles per hour, a slider 81-84 miles per hour and a change up 81-83 miles per hour. He made a significant jump from his freshman to sophomore season. The pitcher started his college career with a 19-appearance campaign that included 20.2 innings pitched, a 2-1 record, 1 save and a 3.05 ERA.
He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining with NC State.
Carr joins a talented transfer class as the sixth commit of this cycle. Vanderbilt first baseman Matt Ossenfort, UNC Greensboro right handed pitcher Julien Peissel, Georgia Tech third baseman Ryan Jaros, Ole Miss utility player Trenton Lyons and Campbell outfielder Dalen Thompson all committed to the NC State baseball program earlier this year.
