NC State’s recruitment of Hilliard (Ohio) Bradley High linebacker Terris Dudley moved fast this past November. He was a Toledo commit that played safety during his senior season, but the Wolfpack offered and flipped Dudley all in a week’s time in mid-November.

Dudley, who at the time was the No. 68 linebacker in the country, was an under-the-radar addition at the time. But now, he appears to be one of the Pack’s biggest steals of the 2025 recruiting class as he earned his fourth star from On3 on Thursday.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound linebacker entered the On300 rankings for the first time in his recruitment as he checked in at No. 239 nationally. He is the No. 25 overall linebacker recruit in the 2025 cycle and the 10th-best player from the state of Ohio. On3 is the only outlet to award Dudley a fourth star.

“Terris Dudley was a guy we found kind of late in the process,” NC State coach Dave Doeren said during his National Signing Day press conference on Dec. 4. “[He’s] a big, athletic safety that we feel like reminded us a lot of Levi Jones — an athletic outside linebacker type that can really run.”

Dudley logged 176 total tackles with three interceptions, four sacks and 15 passes defended during his high school career. He also held offers from Bowling Green, Buffalo, Eastern Kentucky, Houston, Kent State, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Western Michigan and Youngstown State during his recruiting process.

While Dudley emerged as a four-star recruit, he is one of three Wolfpack signees inside the On300 in its final update for the 2025 class.

Louisville (Ky.) Male High center Isaac “Spike” Sowells Jr. continued his surge through the rankings, jumping 119 spots to become the No. 161 recruit in the country. On3 was the first outlet to make Sowells a four-star prospect and it has since been joined by 247 and Rivals, who rank him at No. 104 and No. 238 nationally, respectively.

Sowells’ latest jump was a byproduct of his impressive showing at the Navy All-American Bowl in San Antonio earlier this month. The center consistently turned heads during his time on the practice field as he went up against some of the top recruits in the country, proving he belonged among the best.

Isaac Sowells Jr. was the definition of rock solid on the interior of the offensive line at the Navy All-American Bowl,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power wrote afterwards. “We can’t recall seeing him lose a rep all week in San Antonio. Sowells continually stoned defensive linemen at the point of attack, highlighted by great showings in 1-on-1’s during practice.”

“While he’s just around 6-foot-2, Sowells has compensatory length with very long arms and big hands. He is a functional mover with great ankle flexion and has impressive core and grip strength. The On300 prospect looks to be a steal for NC State. We wouldn’t be surprised to see him get on the field sooner rather than later in Raleigh.”

In addition to Sowells, Marshville (N.C.) Forest Hills four-star wide receiver Je’rel Bolder remained inside the On300 rankings. He fell 50 spots from No. 217 to No. 267. Nashville (Tenn.) Antioch offensive tackle signee TK Whitset, meanwhile, dropped out of the top 300 as he was previously the No. 239 recruit nationally.

NC State currently boasts the No. 34 overall recruiting class in the country — sixth in the ACC — in the 2025 cycle with a class score of 87.63.
