NC State women’s tennis wrapped up its regular season schedule Sunday with a 7-0 win over Virginia Tech. During the match, three-time doubles All-American Alana Smith secured career singles win No. 100.

Smith, who is ranked No. 13 in the nation in singles play, dropped the first set 4-6 before roaring back to win the next one 6-1 and wrap up the match with a 1-0 tiebreaker win. Per GoPack.com, the graduate student is the second athlete in the Wolfpack’s history to record 100 wins in singles and doubles play.

During her career, Smith received All-American doubles honors in 2021, 2020 and 2019. She also made the All-ACC second team in 2021 and 2019. Smith did not play the 2022 dual match schedule due to injury.

After securing a regular season record of 17-4, which is No. 8 in the country and third in the ACC behind No. 1 UNC and No. 3 Duke, NC State enters the postseason as the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament.

Smith holds a 18-5 singles record this season, which ranks her No. 5 in the ACC. Her doubles team with Diana Shnaider ranks No. 11 in the nation.
