After a standout defensive performance, which included finding the end zone for the second time this season, NC State graduate safety DK Kaufman was named the ACC Defensive Back of the Week, the conference announced

Kaufman recorded a strip sack on Northern Illinois quarterback Ethan Hampton, forcing the ball loose near the goal line before he picked it up and scored. The Auburn transfer previously scored a touchdown in the Pack’s win over Louisiana Tech in Week 3 off an interception.

The New Orleans, La., native has 28 total tackles with three for a loss, one sack, a pass breakup, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and an interception in his only season at NC State.

Kaufman is the third Wolfpack player to earn a weekly honor from the ACC, joining sophomore wide receiver Kevin “KC” Concepcion and redshirt sophomore kicker Kanoah Vinesett this fall.

Quote of the day

Vann, one of the Wolfpack’s captains, organized a selfless supply drive to help those in need in western North Carolina. Coach Dave Doeren was impressed with the defensive end’s willingness to help in a time of crisis.

“Anything that anybody wants to bring over, we would love to fill this moving truck to take over to those folks, and [I am] really proud of and thankful for Davin and his family,” Doeren said Monday. Davin probably just came off the best game of his career as well, and for that to be what’s on his mind today, I think it says a lot about that young man and his family.”
