Another day, another preseason award watch list for NC State graduate quarterback Grayson McCall. The signal-caller was named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award preseason watch list earlier this week.

McCall was one of 63 quarterbacks to find their way onto the list, which honors the top senior or graduate quarterback in the nation. The award committee is comprised of college football reporters, commentators, announcers and former players.

The former Coastal Carolina transfer threw for 10,005 yards with 88 touchdown tosses and just 14 interceptions through his first five collegiate seasons. McCall has already been named to the Maxwell Award, Walter Camp, Comeback Player of the Year and Davey O’Brien Award preseason watch lists this month.

The Golden Arm Award will be presented in Baltimore, Md., on Dec. 6.

Quote of the day

NC State women’s soccer is looking to rebound from it’s 3-9-6 season last fall. Coach Tim Santoro believes his team can make it back to the NCAA Tournament this season.

“I think the challenge for all of us — the players and the staff — is that we want to get back to where we were,” Santoro said. “It took me a couple years to rebuild this program and we got to a really good point. Last year wasn’t normal for us. We belong in the top 25, we belong in the postseason. We think we have the team that can do that.”
