NC State women’s basketball improved to 3-0 Sunday, and senior wing Jakia Brown-Turner scored her 1,000 collegiate point during the 86-38 win over Mount St. Mary’s. Brown-Turner scored 6 points and, according to Wolfpack athletics, became the 37th member of the program to reach that scoring total.

Sophomore guard Aziaha James starred for the team off the bench, leading NC State with 19 points on 6 of 7 shooting. James also blocked 2 shots, grabbed 4 rebounds and recorded 1 steal. The Wolfpack dominated on the glass and out-rebounded Mount St. Mary’s 64-21. A total of 7 members of the team finished the game with 5-or-more bards. Junior guard Madison Hayes recorded an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double.

NC State’s next game is a home matchup Wednesday, Nov. 16, against Charlotte.

Quote of the day

This quote is from Wolfpack football head coach Dave Doeren discussing the program’s senior class.

“I love every one of them,” Doeren said. “Thankful that they’ve been in my life and blessed to be their coach, and I hate that we didn’t get that win for them tonight. They’ve done a ton for NC State, for this program. They’re going to have very successful lives because of the people that they are, not just the players. They are incredible people.”
