NC State men’s basketball officially filled its final scholarship for the 2023-2024 season June 16 when Kam Woods officially signed with the Wolfpack. The former NC A&T and Troy guard was an all-conference player last year and brings even more scoring to the lineup this year.

During the 2022-2023 season, he averaged 17.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, earning a spot on the Colonial Athletic Association all-conference second team.. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound senior guard also received second-team HBCU All-America honors last year.

“I’m excited to be able to add a player of Kam’s ability to our roster,” Head coach Kevin Keatts said in a press release. “I love what I’ve seen from him on film, he is a dynamic player that plays with a high motor. I think he is one of the more talented scorers in college basketball and can really light up the scoreboard when he gets going, but he also has shown he has the ability to get his teammates involved and create opportunities for them.

“I think Kam will be an excellent addition to our locker room.”

He started his collegiate career at Troy and then spent a year at Northwest Florida State, winning a junior college national championship. Coming out of high school, Woods was a two-time 6A Alabama state player of the year, per his bio from Northwest Florida State,
