Former NC State guard Lorenzo Brown made history as the third-ever Wolfpack men’s basketball player to compete in the Olympic games. And so far, he has impressed as Spain’s starting point guard.

Brown nearly logged a double-double in the team’s opener with 7 points and seven assists in a loss to Australia, but he was able to clean his game up a tad to pace Spain past Greece 84-77 on Tuesday morning.

The former second-round pick out of NC State scored 7 points with 10 assists and a rebound on 2-for-4 shooting. He limited his turnovers to just four in 28 minutes played and did not record a foul.

Brown, who was granted Spanish citizenship in 2022, helped Spain to a EuroBasket title later that year, but he missed the 2023 World Cup with a shoulder injury. Now, however, he is making the most of his opportunity to help the team on the world’s biggest stage.

Brown joins Kenny Carr (1976) and Tommy Burleson (1972) as the lone former Wolfpack players to compete in the Olympic games. He is the first not to represent the United States of the trio.
